WIDESCREEN GAMING LIST
The Story
Back in the early 2000's, as computer monitors and TVs started rolling out in the now-familiar 16:9 format, most gaming titles for PC did not support it. And so I began a quest to search for various "hacks" or ways I could modify the files in the game to fill the entire screen. I guess word got around, because my site was mentioned in the Oct. 2004 issue of PC Magazine (link)!
The archives linked below are now considered "legacy" information since all PC games today will support widescreen resolutions. However, for those who still want to fire-up games from yesteryear, I've dug throught my archives and am re-presenting that information below. I've also re-added the much-downloaded test and grid patterns for various resolutions.
Enjoy!
